I finally got my new 2013 red Triglide this week (will post pic as soon as I get a photo). I don't know why I was so nervous about it. It's a piece of cake for the most part! Reading forums such as this one and researching riding techniques (the dos and donts) really helped. I knew exactly what to expect as soon as I got on it. Still getting the hang of the cornering but I remembered what some of the members here said about shifting your body a little towards the curve and planting that foot on the floorboard - pushing and pulling handle bars, etc. - so that helped a lot. Now I know what it means by "it's different!" as compared to the two-wheeler - but very fun! Thanks to everyone for your postings - I now have to get ready to ride in the Ozarks in July! Pray for me!! Lol... I look forward to posting more about my rides.

Congratulations, and I'm glad that you took to it so well! As you put on the miles, your confidence and skill will only increase and the ride is even more enjoyable.

Lol... on the color! I almost got the blue/black one but the red one came in first - so I snatched it!

I did get on the highway though and apparently had not learned to close the trunk very well as it was open -:qpnmt: tee hee! A truck with two guys came up beside me and waived and pointed to my trunk..:wave4: Dang - I thought they were flirting! I had to pull over and it upset my flow so I rode the feeder road to home after that! Check that trunk!

To bad on the Blue/Black since Black is the fastest of them all. The trunk lock is a common issue. I learned to close it tight and then push hard to set lock, slamming doesn't work. :D

The best advice I can give is something I read on one of the threads on this site. Don't slam the trunk closed. Gently push it closed and make sure you hear it catch and then lock it. Also spray some lubricant (not water-based) on it so it will catch and release easier.

ENJOY THE NEW RIDE!!!

change the tranny oil syn 3 out for red line motorcycle gear lube, &

the eng oil to r/l 20x60, or spectro, ams oil etc. the tranny is a must as h-d has had bearing problems& the syn 3 is waaay too thin for a transmission.

the classic paul yaffe BAGGER bars are great & don't require any wireing changes, except the TBW throttle-by-wire, need a 12 or 15" ext. and a 4"over clutch cable. when you R&R the clutch cable, butter lube the "O" ring with permatex NON-hardening

sealant & you'll never have a leak.

Congrats and welcome to the club. Did you get it from Independence HD? Wife & I may be headed up that way this week-end to get their stamp in the current HD promotion.

Yes I did! My fourth bike from Independence. Great group of folks and they did me a great deal I thought.
