Finally decided on a trike

Well I'll be getting a new to me Goldwing Roadsmith Trike tomorrow afternoon. Dealer is going to change oil, filter and all fluids. It has only 13k on it and the owner past away a couple years ago,his widow decided to sell it rather than sitting around,so someone else could get some use of it. We made a deal with my trade,so unless something comes up I'll be riding it home about 90 miles to start adding some more miles on it. So I'll be on here more often and have really enjoyed the great people I've talked to about differant trikes. This forum is what every forum should be like pepper
Congratulations, Mike! We'll look forward to seeing pictures of your new baby

Congrats in advance Mike. I will guess from distance you might have purchased it at AJ Cycle in Jasper. If that's the case, I've stopped in there while on business in area and they seem like good people. Some interesting trikes there.

Thanks Andrew , but I got the trike in Madison In. We where at AJ's about 6 weeks ago and all he had where goldwing that had no rake kits installed.I've had open heart surgery and have alot of chest problems,AJ's test ride was causin some trouble in my chest, so this one is raked, but I'll probaly put on a differant degree if Zook advises me ,( I've already sent him a pm). Looking forward to learning again how to drive a trike This forum is what other should like, thanks to all for your replies past and I'm sure future!
Best wishes and good luck with your new ride. Don't forget some pictures. Have fun, post often, ride safe!

Mike, you shouldn't have any problems getting used to 3 wheels once you're body adjusts to the sensitive steering and then realizing it will not tip over.
I like your avator but hope you're a reloader with all the ammo going out that barrel.

Welcome Mike! Sure you'll get many smile per mile on that Roadsmith. Aside from the rake kit, another helpful bit is a rider backrest. A backrest lets you push against something to help turn the bars instead of using just back, shoulder and torso muscles. Takes a lot of tension off your back, and is also more comfortable on the straight parts, too.

I have a Roadsmith also and love it. Welcome to triking. Think about coming to Eureka Springs week of June 15 and meet a lot of fellow trikers and beautiful country.

Way to go Mike. You made 2 great choices. The first one, well ya already knowpepper The 2nd one was joining the best trike forum around with the swellest (is that even a word??) folks involved. So welcome from sunny SocalThumbUp

will congrats on your trike,im new here and am looking for a trike i have two bikes now and have had 53 motorcycles but need a trike now .so hope you are having a good time on yours and riding like the wind:D

Well it's been about 4 weeks since we bought the trike. I told my wife I'd would have been better off just buying a trike when I had to retire with my disability rather than getting two wheels first . But we all know how us men are :Trike1:! We really do enjoy the trike. We are trying to figure out where to go over the 4th, so many choices. I'd like to go to the wing ding, but I know if we go I will spend $$$$ on things for the trike that I should wait to get at a later date. I do know I'll be gettin ahold of Zook for a rake kit just can't get it for a couple of months so that will give me time this winter to do the rake . Yes this is the best fourm I've been on and I check it afew times a day. Thanks for all the replies, and all the info is just outstanding pepper.

Had my 2004 triked a year ago at White Bear Lake. The guys were great to work with.
It took me a while to get relaxed while riding but now I would never go back to two wheels. Really like the Roadsmith and recommend it to anyone looking for a Trike.
It don't get better then this. Enjoy life and enjoy Triking. It's great. Jerry
