Escort trike build

have seen some prefairing european bikes, BMW? with a vinyl type of snap on fairing wind breaks. Thinking of doing similar....bigger windshield and some wind/water proof material to snap on or off, depending on precip/temperature.

I did that on my old Beemer motorcycle . Made "Hippo Hands" out of vinyl and then a section of vinyl to connect the hands to the fairing.

with the weight on the front end .. i find if the pivot is about an inch lower than the axle it rides a lot better... think about pulling a loaded wheel barrow over a curb as opposed to pushing it

thanks . The pic you saw was when it was on jack stands but when on the ground the geometry is like what you said.

Got it started today! Sounds great! A little sporty sounding. I just temporarily put the dash in where the plugs are. Have to lengthen all those wires that go to the front. It is a mass of wires!

pics of progress, mostly wiring. Went to install speedo cable into speedometer and found out a chunk was broken off inside where cable goes so I ordered a used speedo head on ebay. Besides that found the ignition switch, clutch switch and reverse switch were shot! They had a hot wire to start it.IMG_1347.jpgIMG_1348.jpgIMG_1349.jpg

lol... wiring is enough of a challenge, then throw in bad existing components, and yet the possibility of bad new parts... great sport indeed!

Well heck! I went all the way through and at first wasn't too sure about it, but then it started shaping up and looked real good after paint. I got excited and couldn't wait to see the finish. lol Now we have to wait for more posts. Great idea posting as you go, I think when I start mine I will do the same, good job so far!

Well I'm back at it again. Takes awhile to get going again after leaving it. So I'm finishing up the wiring. Got all the lights and horn working. Got the front brakes cleaned out reinstalled and halfway working. The master cyinder for these brakes doesn't put out enough fluid to run both brake calipers up front. So I ordered a different master cylinder that is for these brakes and will put it on the opossite side of the handlebars. This will be dual hand brakes, unless the new one will work both at once.

Getting the aluminum sheet metal tomorrow for the body and panniers and front dust bin fairing.

Have to hook up the motorcycle twist grip throttle also. A few weeks and the DMV guy can come and give me a vin number!:clapping:

got the second front brake master cylinder installed and we now have functioning brakes up front. Installed the rear view mirrors. Hand throttle cable hooked up along with rostra cruise control witch came with the donor. Got to measure for floorboards. Having problem with weak connection to starter. Has new ignition switch, clutch switch. the wire goes into the fuse box and is connected to the rad fan for some reason. might be a high resistance there.
