We'll be riding along and I notice the radio's quit playing. It still has power cuz the front is lit up. Finally I tried toggling the speaker switches on the dash and the radio starts playing again. This happens dozens of times and toggling the speaker switch enough times eventually makes the radio start playing again. Once when I left the house the radio wasn't playing even tho I could see it had power so I toggled the speakers and the speakers came on. I thought the speaker switch was bad so I had that replaced, but the problem remains. What the hecks going on?

Yes to the CB and yes to factory original radio, Hardon Karmon (SP)? I get the feeling I might have to pull the radio and send it back to the factory. Sure hate to do that.

Could it be something as simple as a wonky fuse that's going in and out? I'd try everything before yanking the radio and sending it back.

Had a 2004 that did the same thing. Sent the radio for exchange. A week later got it back..... Good to go.

Just a thought, check the CB squelch or just shut down the CB part . If the squelch is set too senceitive/high, it will cut out the radio

Turns out it wasn't the CB after all. Wish that's all it had been. Might have to go to with the Harley radio reman exchange program.
