I'm looking for a drivers backrest for my "16" Tri Glide. I'm looking for one that will fold down flat on my seat while my wife gets on the back. I've looked at the HD one and not sure this would do what I need. Does anyone have any experience with any other brand? Thanks

If it is the same one as for the 15 model, my wife loves it. She is strictly a back seat rider and the backrest folds down for her to get on. There is a spring loaded mechanism that pushes it back up when she is on.

I have known many couples that really liked the backrest from Utopia Products. I know of many co-riders that climb on and pull the drivers back rest up as they sit down on the rear of the seat. You might try looking them up and or calling them and asking them questions.

I just put a "Grasshopper" on my 2011 Tri Glide,

Price and build are excellent, taking it off and on is real fast and easy. Would buy one again.

Mustang Driver Backrest

I have the backrest from Mustang Seats. It folds flat as a pancake making for easy on, easy off for both the passenger and the rider. It can be raised, lowered, tilted forward or back in its mount. The pad that comes on it matches the stitching of either their seat or the O E seat. It can also be had with black pearl studs or chrome. I love the fact that I can adjust it without getting off the bike. Even while moving down the road.

That's what I was using with the stock seat and the Hammock seat. Of course, now that I have a Mustang seat, I am using the Mustang backrest that fits the built in receiver in the seat.

I went with their Super Touring seat as I already had the backrest kit. This is the third Rushmore it has been on. If I am blessed, it will see several others before I hang up the 'ol helmet.

I was not aware that the Super Touring seat would fit a 2015 or I would have gone with that one! If you plug in the year and model into Mustang's own site it only comes up with the trike model that I bought. So far this one isn't as comfortable as the Super Touring seat that I had on my '07 Road King.

That's because that is the model they want to sell to trike owners. :D Like a fully loaded pick up, that seat has a bigger profit margin. I am fortunate in that my indie carries their full line of products. Thus, all I did was take the display model out and install it to check fitment. Bingo !
