Drag Specialties Adjustable Shocks

Is anyone running the Drag adjustable shocks? There was a set already on my trike when I bought it. I cannot seem to find information on adjusting them as far: "X" pound rider + "X" pounds of gear = setting. The instructions tell you how to shorten or lengthen the shock, but that's about all.
