Down Shifting Problems

I have a 2019 Harley Triglide. I've been experiencing problems downshifting when coming to a stop. When downshifting at a traffic signal often times it feels like when hitting the shifting lever there's nothing there. I often have to rev the engine and/or move the trike a foot or two before there is any feel to the shifting lever. Does anyone else experience this or is it just my trike? Also thinking that maybe I should use a different tranny fluid. Opinions on what is considered the best tranny fluid to use are appreciated. Thanks!!

Been using Redline crash proof . Smoother shifts . I also down shift while moving into first by the time I hit the lights/ stop signs .

I also restart a warmed up engine in first gear , to avoid the dreaded Clunk !

I think most motorcycle trannies are better equipped or function better if you down shift as you are reducing speed and are in first gear before you come to a complete stop. I NEVER set at a traffic stop with tranny in neutral.:wave4:

Agree with others, downshift as rolling to a stop and be in 1st right before stopping. Also the Redline Shockproof is great.

If you do find yourself in some gear besides 1st at a stop, let the clutch out a bit then try shifting again...it helps.

I used Syn-3 in all three holes for years. Always had issues off and on with transmission. Switched to Belray in tranny on my 2019 and no more issues of any sort. I don't think Syn-3 is heavy enough for a Harley tranny no matter what Harley says.

I downshift about 90% of the time as I come to a stop. Depending on how long I anticipate being at a stop often times I go into N just before I come to a complete stop (stop light). My old cramping hands just refuse to let me hold that clutch in forever.
