I just did a stereo upgrade on friends Roadglide Ultra.

We decided not to go the usual bolt-in kit from Hawg Wired, Biketronics or JM.

He had a hog Tunes system with a instrument tweeter pod setup that had seen it's better days

We decided to go with the HAT (Hybrid Audio Technologies) Unity Series 6.5" Component speakers. I put the 6.5" mid bass's in the faring, mounted the HAT tweeters in the Hog Tunes tweeter pod and drove these with the Hawg-Wired RS-400 400 Watts RMS Amp

In the faring lowers I installed a set of Hogworkz 6.5 Inch Harley Lower Fairing Speaker Pod Mounts and mounted a set of kicker 6 3/4" CompRT Dual Voice Coil Sub Bass speakers and also drove these with another of the the Hawg-Wired RS-400 400 Watts RMS Amps

I was pleasantly surprised at how well these small subs performed with such a small enclosure.

This is a "Great" sounding system.

Incredible highs and mids from the faring that you can hear clearly at 100 MPH

The subs in the lowers are really for Bike night and around town cruising, anything above 60-70 MPH and you cannot hear them, but he sure sounds baddass pulling into the bar on Bike night.

Karl, can you give us a ballpark figure what a set-up like that would cost,turn-key?

The HAT Mid Bass and Kicker subs are water resistant (these are not Marine rated, just water resistant) the tweeters are not water resistant and his Lady is making a Naugahyde elastic bottom gathering cover to snap over in case he gets caught in the rain.

This young man is more of a bike night and bar hopper than a touring guy.

Clint, you do not have lowers on yours.

$$$ for $$$ I have a better system that I can install for you. Give me a call

Clint, to answer your question, the cost for this system was

Parts: $1807.00
Labor $450.00
total $2257.00

However, I think the subs are a waste of money for someone that spends more time actually riding. You cannot hear them at speed.

We could do just the Hat Unities and the H-W amp in the Faring for about $1250.00

This is a killer system all by itself

I need to check out some of those sound systems on a bike or trike. No one I know has improved theirs.

On a stock sound system???

Our basic $899 All in sound system install will blow away a stock sound system

What I meant was,I don't really know anyone with a killer sound system on their bike or trike. I'm sure they are out there but my wife and I mostly ride alone. Seriously,I'd like to hear that $899 system.

Clint,

IMO, I really think my $899.00 level 2 kit is your best bang for the buck.

Includes
RS-400 400W RMS Amp
Hybrid audio technologies "Imagine" Series 6.5" speakers
amp hookup kit
5.25" to 6.5" speaker adapters
batwing faring support brackets
installation and tuning

you can hear your music loud and clear at 75 MPH

after following hundreds of threads on HD and these here, I'm curious what settings you guys are at on your factory systems that they are not loud and clear at 75mph or more? more bass is always good, but my 70's rock is only quiet at WOT(jackpot/RCX)

Hey BIG Fish,

Seriously bro, if you know a way tuning a stock HD stereo to give us clear loud music at 70+ MPH speeds...PLEASE tell us how.

I do it as a hobby, mainly to help out friends and fellow riders that want better sounding music on their HD's

It would be absolutely great, if through tuning we would not have to spend the money it takes to do this.

Could you show us how you set yours up?

Thanks in advance
