DFT Smoothie Exhaust Questions

I've been checking out a DFT Smoothie conversion for my 2010 Street Glide and at first it looked good. However, after talking with an installer and with Leon getting any exhaust to work requires major modification with a maximum slip-on length of 18". The only modified exhaust Leon offers is Rush which I don't particularly care for and the installer has been experimenting with Rinehart. However, that requires removing about half of the slip-on out of the middle and not only is the sound much louder but I have performance concerns. :AGGHH:

What have the happy HD Smoothie converts done with your exhaust and what is your experience with the modification? Depending on your feedback, this may be a deal killer for me.

Thanks for you help.

I wanted quieter exhaust on my 2005 roadglide and purchased stock Harley exhaust off of a

FLRT on ebay. I sent them to DFT and they cut them down and welded them. They look perfect and the sound is great.
