My dealer called me a few minutes ago wanting to buy my 2010 ss106 wide glide. They asked some questions about the condition of it then wanted me to bring it in as they are short on used Dyna bikes to sell.
I know its just a way to get me in so I would trade. Can you believe this. Still laughing about it. My wife would divorce me.

You'd probably be surprised at how often this works. I have a good friend that owns a Harley dealership and that's standard procedure for dealers.

Our local chevy dealer tried it with me a few years back. Took the truck in for sale. They wanted to trade. I told m you called me wanting to buy it, so what you offering. I just laughed and walked out. I could not believe they called me, we don't get along very good.
I told them on the phone at the HD dealer I wasn't interested in trading but if you offer enough I will sell you the wide glide or super glide. I got too many as it is.

After asking what the ball park figure I would get she said well e was thinking you might like one of the newer bikes. So I didn't go.
I wife would do me in if I sold or traded the wide glide. They wouldn't give me no where what the super glide is really worth. But then, I would be upset. It's the only 2 wheel we got I can ride comfortably, over all comfort.

Had something similar happen a few years back with the Toyota dealer I USED to do business with. I drove 35 miles only to find out they weren't as interested in dealing as they made it sound on the phone. The following year I leased a new truck from a different dealer.

Sales gimmick, They can't sell something till they get you in their showroom...
Dodge is still needing my Ram.. Only i traded it in over a year ago.. Like wise Hardly is still needing my Sportster that i traded in over a year ago also... :D

Cadillac dealer has called us 3 times in the last 10 months trying to get us to come in.. No dice, It's PAID FOR!

It seems that is the newest gimmick. I keep on getting mail telling me that my Toyota 2003 Tundra is badly needed and they will give me top dollar. I nearly totaled it and got rid of it 11 years ago.

Yes this is a common ploy. I received a letter yesterday from a Cadillac dealer telling me it was short of and in need of Audi A3s and would make me a super deal on a trade. LOL
