Ok so I'm looking into getting a set of Dakota Gauges for my 2020 Tri Glide (MLX 8414) I want to know if some of my favorite functions on the stock gauges will still be present on the New Dakota Digital Gauges.

I called Dakota digital and they gave me their answers. I definately need 2nd opinions as pertaining to these question from someone that actually has these gauges installed on their Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Just double checking. Big money, don't want to be disappointed after purchase/install.

1. Does the toggle switch on the left handle bar control, that toggles thru trip A, Trip B and Odometer, still function the same?

2. Cool Flow Fan: On/Off/Auto gets displayed in the OEM speedometer message box when cycling thru those 3 items. Does this function also work in the Dakota digital gauges.

3. Head Temperature indicator is available on the Dakota Gauges without any additional add on equipment? This function is not available on OEM Stock Harley Gauges.

4. When Dakota Gauges are installed, will I lose any function at all in my Infotainment Boom Box 6.5 GTS

5.Stock OEM Gauges had a light sensor for day/night operation that dims the instrument panel light at night and increases light during the day. Does Dakota Gauges have this light sensor Incorporated in them?

6. Lost Fob: Does the Dakota gauges have the function to enter pin number to start motorcycle without FOB present?

Any answers would be much appreciated.

I have the MLX8414 gauges on my 2019, I will try to answer your questions as best I can:

1. Yes, the toggle switch works the same.

2. Can't answer this one.

3. That is correct.

4. No, everything will work the same.

5. Yes, just like the stock gauges.

Papiboss, Thanks for the reply. I order the Dakota digital 8414 for my 2020 Tri Glide. Going to have the shop install them next Wednesday for $339 with tax. Call Dakota Digital and they answered my questions. Talked to the Parts/service/mechanics and they were all on the same page answering my questions after a little bit of discusstions. Along with what you told me I think everything will be good
