CSC kit issue with heel/toe shifter and ground effects

Hi All: As some of you might recall (or maybe not), I am getting a 2012 Gold Wing with a CSC trike kit. I'm getting ready to head south to pick up my trike (which is SUPPOSED to be ready tomorrow, fingers crossed!!)

Anyway, one of the things I am being told is that they can't install the heel/toe shifter I wanted. They said it won't fit with the ground effects aka running boards. The shifter I wanted has a built-in floor board. Not sure if it would work without the floor board but we're going to talk about it when I get there.

The trike I ride now has a heel/toe shifter and floor boards. It's a Suzuki Boulevard C-50. I've gotten really used to the shifter and like it. I'm wondering if anyone else here has run into this issue.

Thanks!

Cool! Do you have floorboards with your heel/toe shifter? Do you have a link to the heel/toe shifter that I can present to the dealer when I get down there? Time is of the essence.

Thanks!!
I have a 2010 CSC with the KURY heel/toe shifter. It will fit but the heel/toe shifter becomes the weight bearing surface instead of the running boards. Like you, I was used to the shifter and did not want to do without it. The running boards are still there to deflect water and wind and look good but they are not fully weight bearing. I don't know what the actual load capacity is but I have had an adult woman step on it before I could warn her and it did not break. Wouldn't try this often tho.

Marcia, we have a 2008 GW 1800 CSC - see pictures on my profile and Scalp Hunter's - and he's frequently reminding me NOT to step on the aqua shields. They sure do keep our feet dry, even during downpours, though, and can't be beat for looks!!

You've made a wise choice!!

Thought y'all might like to see the finished product! Took delivery today. She rides like a dream! As you can see, they managed to install the shifter (after I sent the salesman a link to this thread! LOL)

We're stuck about 2 1/2 hours from home!! Started to rain so we got off the highway and found a place to have dinner, motel for the night, etc. Now we find out that tomorrow is going to be a complete washout with flooding rains and thunderstorms.
Marcia, your trike is beautiful! Glad to hear you got the shifter and floorboard worked out :).

I just purchased a 2012 Honda Goldwing Trike (CSC -Viper) with the grounds affect and was informed by CSC that the kit will only accomodate the stock Honda rider footpegs. Was there any problems installing the Kuryakyn Heel/Toe Shifter? I want to install the same kit (4038) Any comments are appreciated.

Hey! You know, they fought me on it but when push came to shove, they fit fine. If you want to get your toes under the shifter, you might have a problem there...but I don't upshift that way. By the way, Honda installed them for me. I am not a do-it-yourselfer.

I just installed the Kuryakyn heel and toe shift for my 2012 Honda Goldwing Trike (CSC-Viper) with the running boards with no problems. However, I have no idea what the deploy hook is for and did not install it. My best guess is that it is for the kick stand if you have a two wheeler. Comments are welcomed.

Kuryakyn told me that the deploy hooks is to protect the floor boards from rubbing on the pavement when you corner to hard. Just thought you might want to know if you were not aware already.
