Cruise control plug location????

OK, I'm a newbie to trikes and it's been years since I rode before getting one. I recently bought a 2010 Tri Glide to replace another trike. In an effort to make the trike comfortable, I had to replace the handlebars with the Harley Reach ones.

I threaded all the wires through and got the bars mounted. HOWEVER, somewhere in the swap I lost the other end of the cruise control two pin plug! I have torn all the wiring from the zipties holding them in place looking for it. and I'll be dammed if I can find that little bugger! I didn't have to unpin the plug to get it through the new bars, but I lost the other end.

I can see only one 'extra' plug and that one has a different end on it and won't fit the plug coming out of the handlebars.

Any suggestions?

Only one thing to do is dissemble the bars and do it again sorry... for your luck... :gah:eek:uch!!! travel safe Fred

DUH !!!

After leaving the outer fairing off and taking the trike to the Harley shop, I found out that the wires I was trying to find the end for was NOT for the cruise. It is for heated grips which I don’t have.

It turns out that my cruise was not working because of a previous mickey mouse fix for a broken brake light switch. Since the brake lights were on full time, the cruise wouldn’t engage.

Thanks for the help!

Glad you got it covered. In the sticky notes at the front of the Freewheeler forum, there is a great diagnostic tip on checking your entire cruise control circuit. It is quick, doesn't require tools & checks everything.

Maybe it could be a sticky here too.
