I am considering putting a cooler rack on the hitch of the 2008 GL1800, CSC.
Kuryakyn has one that's $175. That seems a bit expensive.

Any recommendations?

Check with a local metal fabrication shop unless you know someone handy with metal. I bet you can get one made for less then $75. There can't be more then $25 in materals. I've made several of them....

Great ideas. Thanks.
I also found "Add On" that is 150.00, but I have a ball hitch. Wont work.
Seems I may want to replace that anyway.

I made one out of a motorcycle luggage rack I found at a swap meet for $15. Easily mounted by drilling a few holes. :)

ThumbUpThumbUp,,,Jack I think that's a great ideal ,,done right would look as good as anything I've seen . I like a hands on approach to my scooters sometimes . GOOD ONE,,,,,,ThumbUpThumbUp

perhaps making a bunch $75 would b ok but for one pc at 75 i probably would turn on a machine... thats just me tho

Look I'm not cheap. But I don't like giving away my hard earned ca$h either. That price is just crazy. I've seen them a whole lot cheaper. Like STACEBG said. It won't cost any thing for mat'ls. There has to be someone you know that can weld. Its so simple to build. $175.00 HA. They have some nice stuff but that's way out of line!

Thanks.

I ended up selling that trailer. That cooler rack was the thing the buyer liked the most. :)

I can't believe some of the prices I'm seeing....

Well Jack ,,,, I agree but to each his own ThumbUp I won't tell a man how to spend his money . I just thought that luggage rack was a good ideal , the racks I've seen are no more than a square rack . The luggage rack would at least have a little style to it .....

Harbor Freight has a carrier for $42.99 - item #67623.Made by Haul Master for an ATV -150 lb.cap
my 2 cents worth
Good Luck!!
Tip

Is THIS the one? When you search for #67623, it takes you to this w/ a different #.

It says 500 lb cap (?) - read the 3 reviews, one makes reference to a smaller one. Doesn't seem to show the dimensions. I imagine the 500 lb cap one is "huge" & for a larger 4 wheeler "jeep type" vehicle.

That looks pretty nice. Can you tell me more about it? Cost, Where?

You can try sending a PM to Carbon_One. Mine was probably a little more pricey at $100. It was a prototype. He has built several since he built mine. Larry provided and wired the tail and marker lights. You can buy a carrier without lights and unfinished for much less. I just came back from a 3,130 mile trip and had a large cooler on there the entire time. No problems... You can talk with Larry, if interested.

Talked to the folks at CSC. There is a 60lb max for the trailer rack cargo.
The one at Harbor freight is 54 inches long... that's too big.
Changing out the ball hitch to the receiver hitch is tough.
It appears that the one from Kuryakyn (7643) is the best suited for this trike. No hitch issue.
$144 at Motorcycle superstore, no shipping charge.
