I want to thank all you who didn't even know you were helping. I started as a forum "guest" (Some say "lurker") back in November 2009, exploring the options and making decisions. The income tax refund came in . . . and I am now up and rolling on three wheels!!!
:D
The starting point was 2004 HD Lowrider, which has - I mean HAD - been a "garage ornament" for far too long. Add a Frankenstein kit (34" "Sport" rear end, with the raked tree and black wheels) and some modifications to the clutch, and I guess I don't need to tell you all how thrilled I am.
:yay:
The first "shake down" cruise was Sunday, a very happy 55 mile loop. (Tucson thru the Rincon Valley into Vail & back, for the Arizona crew who knows where this is.) We hit some fairly rough road in spots, and by the time I got back home we had to tighten the steering down again. Is this going to stop when the bearings get settled in? -- I don't care if not, I will just carry a lift & socket!:yes:

What a great report!!!! And a great big welcome (officially, even though you've been here unofficially for a while)!!!! :D. We are so happy you decided to join up, and look forward to many conversations with you in the days to come.

Welcome aboard Maria. The steering nut should be tighten down a little more than called for on a non-triked/raked bike. Maybe the builder tighten it to factory spec. not knowing on a trike it needs to be tighter. Take it back and have them tighten it the way it's suppose to be.

Welcome aboard, Maria! It sounds like you are already having a great time on your trike, and that will just get better and better.

The folks on this forum were a huge help and inspiration to me, too, on the journey to Goldie (my VTX-1300, Champion kit), and they will stick with you through thick and thin.
