Comfort Controls

I have a 2007 wing with a 2015 Road Smith HT1800 Kit. I seem to be comfortable but was wondering if the Comfort Controls would make it better. Has any one put these on ?

I have a 2012 with the Comfort controls. They were on the trike when I bought it last year.
They lowered the foot position 1", and moved them forward 3".
I further lowered the foot position 3\4" with the Kuryakyn Mini Boards.
There were 2 problems I had to deal with. When the Toe Warmer doors were open (I don't think your 2007 would have them), I had trouble shifting because my boot would hit the top of door when I would try to downshift (the PO told me he quit using the warmers)
The second problem was, even though I lowered the foot position 3/4"in relation to the shifter with the Kury Mini Boards, I found the shifter to be too low!
What I did was cut the shifter and modified it to shorten it and raise it to allow me to shift without the interference of the door, and it allowed me to position my toe under the shifter without having to reach down.
The last pictures shows the part of the shifter I cut off.
I used a piece of 3/4" X 1\4" flat bar to make the new shifter extension. It had to be twisted to get it to come out straight.
I then drilled and tapped the extension so that I could use a 1\4" carriage bolt for the peg. I used a 1\4" nut to lock it into place.
I initially bolted the extension into place so that I could adjust it the way I wanted it.
Once I was happy with it, I welded it together and removed the bolt.
I very happy with the results.
As far as the Comfort Controls go, I really like them, but if I would have had to pay for them, I don't think I would have purchased them (very expensive, especially in Canada).
I added the Mini Boards, and I love them. I would highly recommend them as they are not too expensive!

I went with the kuryakyn floor boards and heel toe shifter, these work great for me, I don't even use the highway pegs anymore. I am 6' and size 10 boot so it may be different for others.

when I first got my 2014 GL1800 converted by California Side Car I found the seating
position very uncomfortable.

I first had the comfort controls installed with Show Chrome floor board & toe heel
shifter.

The local Honda dealer did the install and moved the Comfort Control mechanism to
the hole specified for the toe heel shifter. The shifter position was correct for me
with or without floor boards or with or without pegs.

According to the Comfort Control instructions the height of the toe shifter peg is
adjustable at the time of installation.

I had no problem hitting the foot heater duct when open.

Still not comfortable. I changed the seat to the Ultimate King, moved the bars up
3/4 inch and back 1 3/8 in with risers.

Finally I removed the floor board and toe heel shifter. I now put my feet directly on
the CSC ground effect option and find the combination of the Comfort Control and
Ultimate King very comfortable.

All the mentioned work was done early 2015 and after about 6000 miles and one
full riding season I am very pleased the the seating position and comfort.

I also have a 2015 Road Smith kit on my 2008 GL1800. I had Rivco toe/heel shiftier before the trike job & I left them on the bike & they work just fine for me.

I had them installed by my Roadsmith trike converter and was lucky he had a used pair of comfort control that
he sold me at half price.
Actually....... I couldn't tell the difference after not riding all winter and picking my trike up in the spring.

That being said, it made the controls expensive in my case even at 1/2 price.
If they make a Hugh difference for you, they might be worth it.

If the foot fairings are weight bearing, as my Hannigan are, remove the rider pegs and rest your feet on the foot fairings! Most comfortable foot/leg position I've had, ever!!!! I do sometimes have to lift my left foot to shift but got use to that very quickly. Also, Kury has a heel rest, mounts to the right side to put your heel on when using the foot brake. Also easy to get use to!
You can eliminate the foot behind the knee position, which has always been very uncomfortable to me.
If you still want to consider the Comfort Controls, please check clearances to your foot fairings! I have read posts on other forums that some brands of the foot fairings have to be "notched" to clear the lowered pegs!!!
