I seen it also, And there wasn't any self-serving political BC... To tell you the truth i was waiting for it as i watched [The BS] Then i realized these are middle Americans, Not the Holly-weird malcontents...And then i just sat back and enjoyed the show...ThumbUp

Country music understands it completely and will avoid political interpretations.

That is why Country Music will always be a big part of the heart and soul of the American people.ThumbUp

I didn't watch the show, but I assume the Dixie Chicks didn't get an invite???:p

I just can't get into the "new" country artists for the most part.

Give me Merle, George Jones, Dolly, Oak Ridge Boys, etc. & that's what I call "Country Music"

The wife recorded it and I watched it this morning without the ads. Reba for sure had a message, and the tribute to Chuck Berry was great. Myself being a bluegrasser, if it's not old country or bluegrass I will not get to excited about the music.

If the electricity goes out and you can still be heard doing music then you know it's probably good old music. Jim

You know guys, Its not what Country Music is...

Its what it isn't .....Have you seen some of the other music awards shows...

I don't watch any entertainment awards shows, and I never have. I love music (I can't imagine life without it), and of the "country" genre I love bluegrass, but the awards shows simply don't interest me at all. :D

I don't begrudge those who do enjoy watching the awards shows; I was simply commenting on how often there seems to be yet another entertainment industry awards show going on.

I don't watch the shows, but the paper this morning had a pic of one of the winners. Boy had a big gold hoop earring on each ear. Made me think of this:

I watched part of the ACMs, recorded it but haven't watched it yet. I'm a country music fan all the way so usually try to watch the shows. I'm not real big on the 'new' country but give me some Patsy, Merle, George, Willy, Reba, Waylon, Vince, Alan, etc! I do like recent newcomer Chris Stapeleton!

CMAs are always classy. And I'm a big Chris Stapleton fan too. He's like a throw-back to the old days of Merle and George, with his own unique kick.

I believe that he New Country music was intended to attract the snowflakes to Country Music, and boost sales.

Original Country will always exist :clapping: not to worry - hee - haw !
