checking belt deflection

I purchased a belt tension gauge from Harley and in the instructions it says to use the gauge to push up on the belt to check how much it deflects and see how it compares to the markings on the debris deflector , in my sevice manual for the trike it also talks about a debris deflector , problem is I've looked all over and there isn't any debris deflector found on my tri glide, what am I missing here. has anyone ever experienced this problem ?

I just looked at this myself there is no reflector like on the two wheelers. I plan on taking the Tensioner and placing a tape measure next to the belt to measure the deflection at 10lb of force.. I know mine will need adjustment as it is not within the 3/8-7/16 range.

That is how I do it on the Triglide.

Just got done adjusting the tension on the belt. Sure doesnt take much to get it within specs..Spend more time trying the get the bolts loose to make the adjustment..
