Changed handlebars on 2015 Freewheeler and had some problems with wires and codes. Finally got it all right for a while. Now here is what happens:

1. Start up go riding.

2. Cruise control on all is well.

3 Turn cruise control off or stop engine.

4. Start engine and check engine light is on, cruise control will not work.

5. Stop engine run diagnostic have code and clear it, then cruise control works until it is turned off then repeats #4.

Any ideas?

Thanks to all who may respond.

What code is displayed? The most common code would be a brake light code. That would cause the cruise to stop also

It seems that the common thread with codes popping up and cruise not working is after a 'Handlebar'' change..?..Maybe the switches are way too delicate to be messed with, And very careful removal and re-install is needed...If not new ones ......

Will check code number on my next ride and will post. Thanks

There is a sticky at the beginning of the FW forum I posted on a "Cruise Control Diagnostic Test" that is tool free & takes 1 minute. It will test your cruise control on/set switch, clutch switch, the front & rear brake switches & rolling the throttle forward will disengage it also. Easy to understand & perform.
