Here is my simple and inexpensive external breather option. See photo. Yes I need a better hose but it works. Of note is that I have barely any oil blow by, need a 100 miles to make a drop. This uses the stock air box and filter. A K&N filter can also be substituted. All I had to do was pull off the tubing which went from the 2 to 1 hose barb, install a by pass tube and plug the hole in the back of the filter. I actually think the factory air box looks okay. Trike is essentially stock so I don't think additional expense is required at this time.

so where is end of hose ???? catch can or something else??
At moment I'm just experimenting a bit. Have the hose go behind the rear cylinder and tucked in around the inner primary to below the trike. My trike has almost no oil blow by and was wondering in my case if this was really necessary but this motor has to last me for the rest of my riding days, so maybe better safe than sorry. It's a dead simple mod.

I don't think the breather vents going back into the engine is a big deal, hell it might help lube the valves. I also don't think dumping it on the ground is a big deal.

When new I did the pill bottle breather. I've since "upgraded" using stainless braided hose routed off the breather bolts one hose on each side down along the frame then teed out of sight. Didn't care for the stethoscope look so that's why I did it that way. All the way back to the rear brake terminating to a DK Custome catch can. Expensive little bugger but a class act. As I have DK's air cleaner I needed a way to cover the throttle servo area so I got the cover for it. Overkill but it does give the right side of the motor an industrial look.

Those K&N filters are kind of flimsy where the bolts go thru, do be careful when tightening them
I agree on this 100%, I thought I broke it when installing the bolt on the right side, but all is good.

I ended up picking up another air cleaner free for my 2018 trike, drilled a small hole on left side and run hose down to the bottom and zip tied it to the frame, works good for me anyway, I did buy another filter since the first one was pretty oily and dripping down on the ground in garage, not bad I think I had 3 small dots of oil on garage floor, that was basiclally a whole summer of driving it, so pulled it off and installed the new one I bought.

All for now Trampas
