Champion Warranty Problem

I did a self install of IRS champion kit on VTX1300. I have a pinion seal leak and am now hearing warrenty only covers parts on self installs. Nowhere in the instructions does it say this. This problem does not appear to be anything an installer could have anything to do with.

Anyone else have any experience here.

Re: Champion Warrenty Problem

The only warranty issue I had was with tail light lenses melting. When I called the guy asked, "Do you use the brakes a lot"?? Well, yeah....if I need to stop or slow down!! They were going to send me replacements but my dealer/builder swapped them out with Harley lenses free of charge.

This question came up several months ago so I asked Micheal Miller of Champion Trikes who reads and posts here on the forum. Here was his response which I posted in my DIY Kits thread, see link below.

Champion has been very good in supporting their customers. Id suggest calling Michael Miller at 1-800-875-0949.

Re: Champion Warrenty Problem

This would have been nice to know before hauling my trike 135 miles to a warrenty site to save $20 on a seal. This needs to be documented in the official warrenty policy and to buyers for kits and self installs. A little aggravated. Trike has been tied up two weeks for a seal while it only took a long weekend for the whole kit install.
