Champion Interest Thread! What would you like to see for your trike?

We have been thinking of new parts to go along with your Champion Trike and wanted to get your input.

Let us know what you want to see as an accessory or option with your Champion Trike!

Examples: Powder coated black wheel option, Black Light Bars, Blacked out exhaust mufflers, Anodized Black Rake Kits, Exhaust Heel Guards, Nerf Bumper Bars, Etc. :D

How about one or two options of luggage racks that are "plug and play" with your kits. It took two or three tries to find one that would work on my trike. This one was made for the FLHXXX (HD's street glide trike), but my dealer had to fabricate metal spacers to level the rack appropriately where the fiberglass dips down. It worked and looks great when he was done (see the photo below), but it would be nice to offer one that just bolted directly into place without the extra fabrication.

A nerf bar rear bumper.

i think a lot of Champion trike owners are really interested in a rear bumper. i have a Champion kit on my 2007 but do not care for the looks of the Tri Glide bumpers as they cheapen the looks of the bike. Champion kits are about sweeping lines and i do not want a bumper that is going to throw off that nice look. because of the rear trunk the bumper will have to be fabricated as to not interfere with the opening and closing of the trunk. it should also include lights in it so you can be seen better at night and during the day as well but the main function is to protect the rear end of the trike. Good Luck

One of the things to consider is being able to incorporate a couple back-up lights to the rear bumper for those that do travel in the dark. ThumbUp

We are in the process of working on a nerf bar and fender protectors for the Champion Kits. I will be sure to look into a luggage rack option for those that do not have a tour box on their trike.

Re: Champion Interest Thread! What would you like to see for your trike?

if you are going to try to fabricate some fender protectors please do not make them out of vinyl. they are in my book ugly and cause more harm than good. i would like to see you make something out of metal, like chrome or stainless (polished) with or without your logo. there are many Champion kits out there and i think they are one of the best looking so do not make some cheap looking product and expect us to buy them. trikes are as personal as 2 wheelers to their owners and everybody has his likes and dislikes and to what if any accessories he or she wants to add. i will not buy a rear bumper for mine but i would buy a set of fender protectors if they were real good looking.

You have a luggage rack option. I have one. Nerf bars would look nice on this. I would buy fender protectors.

Re: Champion Interest Thread! What would you like to see for your trike?

I agree with every suggestion listed here.
the fender bra's would be cool ( Give me an option of logo or no logo)and how about luggage rails for the fender?
I too would like more stopping power on my rear brakes, I would think the Volkswagen brakes would do a better job than they do?
How about chrome side fender protectors make them similar in const. to the luggage rack on the trunk?

I made mine out of the rails off my saddle bags.

Re: Champion Interest Thread! What would you like to see for your trike?

People complaining about the rear brakes on trikes, remember that you are now operating two calipers with a master cylinder that was sized to operate one. One thing I did when I installed my trike kit was to shorten the push rod on the master cylinder by one thread which probably gave me an additional .010-.015 in stroke (more fluid). Still not the greatest but has more stopping power.

It would be nice to be able to purchase oversized master cylinders and repair kits.

I will check my rod set up on my old tour glide and give it a try?
Thanks.ThumbUp

Come to think of it i will look at my friends tri glide when he can drag himself back to Wyoming from Vegas as he is fortunately able to be a sun chaser, and see if there is any difference in master cylinders as it was designed to be a trike?
My scoot is 25 yrs. old and there may be a difference?

For sure i love my Champion and am in the opinion it is the best looking kit out there besides being one of the few that makes a kit for a sled as old as mine.
