Cb antenna

Never noticed until today, while installing an antenna flag. I have looked at a ton of pics of GL1500 trikes. (What 1500 owner doesn't). Every picture I have looked at shows the CB antenna mounted on the left of the bike or trike. Why, oh why is mine on the right? I have never tried it, but do both antenna mounts have the same thread size? Is it possible to inadvertently install backwards?

Thanks, you are correct. They are interchangeable. It's been that way since I got it. Need to do a little jam nut adjusting. They now fold towards the rear. Easy fix. Thanks again for the info.

Moring Skip. You need to be very cautious with the antenna mounted flags unless you are referring to the style that have a mount attached to the OEM mast base. Mounting a 6 X 9 flag directly on the OEM mast puts a bunch of stress on the antenna. I know two people that have broken the antenna off completely doing this.

Yes there are several vendors that sell them but it's up to us to decide if it's safe to fly them.

My darling wife makes 4 X 6 flags for me that I've flown now for probable 150,000 miles and they do not catch enough wind to harm the OEM mast.

Not sure about your model, but the AM / FM and the CB antenna's have a dedicated cable. If you can, jump a SWR meter inline and ck you CB antenna. The two antenna's have a different coil winding. You don't want to mix the two up. There should be a label or a marking on the CB antenna
