I have a goldwing with a CSC kit and a CSC trailer that I'm wanting to buy a trailer to haul both. I know I'll need a 7' wide but not sure about length, I'm looking at a V-nose. What are those of you using that trailer south for the winter? Do you leave the trailer hooked to the trike?

What is the combined length when connected and will you leave them connected while towing ? If not, you could make it shorter by disconnecting the trailer and put the tongue partially beneath the trike but you need to secure the trailer and that is not as easy as one might think.

I have a 7x14 trailer. I put the cycle trailer in front and the bike in the rear. If I put the cycle too far forward then there is too much tongue weight.

Thanks Craig, so you secure the trailer in the front of your trailer cross ways and then pull the trike on? Doing this distributes your weight so the trailer pulls good? Do you have plenty of space between the trike and trailer and also between the trike and door of the trailer?

You would need 10' for the trike alone. Our champion kit is narrower than most but 7' is pretty narrow. Are you going to use the CT for sleeping? We had a 7 x 12 with folding beds that worked until we took multi day trips. We had to either go to a motel or take the trike out to unfold the bed.

I have friends with bigger trailers. One that hauls a 80's Ram Charger, a Gold Wing and a 10 cu ft freezer for his fish towed by a 40' MH. And there's our own GrandPa Dave who hauls his Trike and Peg's Toyota behind his MH to Texas. I have helped load both and they all have one thing in common, extra room to walk around and tie down.

Don't go to small! You will regret it. Get at least 2' larger than your thinking. I have modified 3 CTs and they are still to small!!

I was thinking 7x16 but if I could get by with 7x14 that would be even better. We won't use it to sleep in, it will only be used to haul the trike and trailer, the pickup will haul whatever else we need. My concern is will I be able to get both the trike and trailer loaded comfortable on a 14'?

The trailer is in backwards, with the tongue on the side. as far as weight, with added gear in the front side to side is equal. Trailer is a v-nose. I have a walk door up front and the front tire is just behind it.

Your truck would not know the difference between a 14 or a 16. The extra weight doesn't have as much effect on gas mileage as frontal area (h x w).

Some 14s may come with single axles, although 14' and longer is usually where double axles are required. Get brakes on both axles.
