Hi All,

I am leaving Friday for a weekend in Wildwood Crest, NJ with friends and want to also take a ride to Cape May while in the area.........does anyone have any suggestions for a scenic ride to take in that area over the weekend or anything interesting to see? Thanks, I am from NJ but never have been to that part of Jersey before.........thanks!

The Cape May ferry is a nice cruise. They charge same for bikes, trikes & sidecars too. Lots of kce fding on the other side.

Hi All,

Since your only there for the weekend, I'm guessing you will just be doing some brief, local sightseeing. Here's a couple of Cape May "touristy" spots...

1. The last couple of blocks (south end) of (I believe) Washington St. is permanently closed to traffic and it is now a "street mall" with lots of little shops for browsing. If I have the street name wrong, anyone in the area will know what I talking about (but I'm pretty sure it's Washington).

2. Take Sunset Blvd (County Rt. 606) west until it ends in a parking area. Nice view of Delaware Bay and nice "touristy" gift shop on the right hand side.

3. Returning back toward Cape May, the 2nd right hand turn should be Light House Ave. Follow it the the Cape May Lighthouse. Position the bike "just right" in the parking area and get someone to take your picture with the Lighthouse in the background. If you do this, you will be "required" to post the picture on TT. :D

4. If there are any kids involved, just a few miles noth is the "Cape May County Zoo". I personally have never been there but I have heard good "reports".

5. Bozo's suggestion was good also. The Ferry runs from Cape May to Lewes, De. If I remember correctly, transit time is about 45 min each way. You could even leave your bike on the Jersey side, get a reduced pedestrian fare, and just go over and back for the "worlds shortest" cruise.

Andrew, how did I do?

Thanks so much for the great suggestions..........appreciate that! I am looking forward to riding along the coast as well, trying to find a route along the coast to take from Wildwood Crest to the town of Cape May.........had planned on a stop at Cowtown on Friday but it is closed on Fridays.......
