OK, this one has got me stumped. I recently found out that I can no longer start the '14 TG in gear by pulling in the clutch and holding a brake. It always used to work, but about a month ago it quit. Tried the front brake, the back brake (always worked before), but it will NOT start unless I have it in neutral now. There are no fault codes, and I know that both brake light switches are working; just went through and verified that.

Anyone run into this? I am trying to track it down myself before I take it to the dealer and maybe have to leave it there for a week or two. :AGGHH:

Thanks,

Mark

I've read that it is an issue with the left switch assembly .... H-D knows about it .... left switch assembly has to be replaced.

Ditto clutch switch

Check loose bolts on perch something went bad on left side switch assembly  my two cents I had same problem when I change handle bars until I re aligned everything on the left side. ride safely fearless

Makes sense... a few months ago we were riding in NC and TN and got caught in a real gullywasher, and a lot quit working; gear position indicator and cruise for a couple. It took about three days to get things back in working order. All the comments at the time were concerning the clutch switch... problem is, no one had it in stock then. At least it came back on its own.

Right now everything works EXCEPT the start in gear. I guess I will head to the dealer to get one on order.

Thanks for the tips.

Jump and jerking

My 2013 wants to jump and jerk at low speed. Is this normal? sometimes I like to go very slow and take it all in. I really enjoy looking at all the Roses. :)

Sound like to me you are lugging the motor. What gear are you in when you are doing this? Anything higher then 2nd or even 1st might be to high.

Tuner!!!!

If you want to sight see on a triglide it has to be tuned and the factory ECM won't cut it. Mine was horrible before PV got plugged in now it is a different machine! "just sayin" I could be wrong ride safely fearless

:Agree:Not to mention spending too much time putting along below 30 mph isn't a good thing for the engine.

Well, the dealer said they didn't know anything about it, but they ordered the left control module... took almost two months to come in, and they didn't call me when it did; had to call them and ask about it. Took 15 minutes to change it, and now everything works. Happy about that :pepper: but why did I had to keep after the dealer to get it done?:gah:

Now tell them to write it down, Then if /when someone else comes in with that same problem they can say;
Yes! we seen that before and know how to fix it!! ThumbUp

I believe I would find a another dealer!

That service is horrible I would be calling the Motor Company and screaming bloody murder about their dealer. just sayin:Shrug: ride safely fearless
