I have the chance to buy a 2012 Burgman Danson trike with 1660 miles. $7500 and willing to negotiate. What do you think about this rig? Any problems two up, about 360lbs? What about the Danson kit? Let's hear your thoughts.

Thanks

Dwight

dwight the burgman will handle the 2 up weight just fine. there is lots of power in that scooter. the kit I only can go on what I have read. It appears to be okay. For the money you can not go wrong. I say go for it. ride safe

I don't know anything about Danson trikes; but here's my .02 from a year or two in the industry.

Look into product support. Can you still get parts from the mfg or dealers? How available is product support should you have an issue. Are the trike components available commercially or are the item specific to that brand? All things worth researching before diving in.

Even the best made products in the world have failures and issues. It's how those problems are addressed and handled that will tell you if it's a worthwhile purchase.

I had a Burgman 650 with a Danson trike set and liked it but had two flaws. The brackets holding on the fiberglass always cracked off do to stress. Danny Johnston who owned Danson fixed my bike for me for free when I took my bike to KY to tell him about the issue. He stood behind his product. After the fix no problem.

You need to get a dark side tire for the rear. Trike tire do not last more than 3000 miles. A car tire will last 30,000 miles or more.

Danson sets are still available under but Danny is no longer making them.
