The manual for my 2013 Stallion says no break in period required, but recommends not driving at a constant speed for 1000 miles. Can I make a trip in it on the highway and vary the speed (55, 60, 65 mph)before I hit the 1K? Would it be better in the long run to continue riding as I have been in my area at no more than 45 or 50 mph?

Drive it and enjoy it as you WILL NOT hurt it !!!! And you will have to stop for gas 3-4 times before you hit 1000 miles anyway !!!

Gerald, just get in it and ride and ride! You don't have to worry about any thing, besides the questions from every one.pepperpepper

what you want to do is to accelerate from 20 to 55 then let off the gas & let the bike slow down by its self. ( no brakeing) . this thrust the rings onto the cylinder walls
the break the rings. first 20 miles is critical. maybe manufactures do it on the test track?
