I rarely use brakes when out ridin'...even in the twisties I love so much. I learned "The Pace" after readin' it long ago and adapted this style to my ridin' technique.....I ride up to a turn, rollin' smoothly out of the throttle (rarely completely off throttle), sight as far through the turn as possible, then smoothly start rollin' back into the throttle as I look completely through the turn. If You are ridin' behind me and You see brake lights, I'm generally warning You that this corner is off-camber, decreasing radius, or has some other "abnormality" causing it to be unusually difficult.....my philosophy is "SLOW IN, FASTER OUT" in corners......what's Your norm as far as using Brakes in Corner Transitioning......"NEXT"......:wtg:

When I first joined TT, I studied the advice from experienced trikers and that method was repeated several times by them. It took me a while to get it, but it works. I will admit pullng out of the turns with a ittle extra acceleration gives me a thrill like laying a 2 wheeler did in tight curves. No brakes.

SHHHHHHHH......savin' that for a different Thread.....uh......"Pesky Birds of the South and the Damage They Cause".........yeah, that's it.....;):D

Rofl !!

Less braking means a more pleasurable driving experience for me. I just love to play with the throttle ...

Also, Drumbrakes don't react as well as other types of brakes. so I'm required to practice. And I'm loving it

Smooth is aways best for the comfort and staying in control. Makes you think ahead and look ahead which is aways a good thing.

I just spemt 3 days in WV chasing a HD Road KIng thru the twisties. I don't use the breaks and I ride one gear down to keep my RPM's higher so I have instant response!

Harley's have a lot of torque but the RPM's will make it happen!
