Just wondering if someone in The Trike World has a set of detailed stepped instructions on bleeding the disc brake system on a GL1800 / Lehman Monarch II build.

1. See Fig. 1. Install single brake line (line with straight tab) to residual valve using the following hardware. Torque banjo bolt to 16 ft-lbs. • (1) Residual Valve– S002037 • (1) M10 Banjo Bolt– CB6001 • (2) Copper Banjo Washers– GC6002 3. Remove rear brake reservoir cap. 4. Bleed rear brake system at rear calipers with brake bleeder or hand operated vacuum pump. 5. Bleed front brake system with rear pedal in the following order. Refer to Honda service manual for further information. • Fig. 2. LH front, upper bleeder • Fig. 3. RH front, lower bleeder • Fig. 4. LH front, anti-dive valve 6. Repeat bleeding on front and rear until all air is eliminated from brake system. Verify rear brake pedal and front brake lever are firm and do not bottom out. 7. Fill fluid reservoir and install cap.

Not very clear to me but, maybe some help!

Previous post should give you the information you seek once you select the kit you actually have. Notice there are different Monarch II kits depending on year. I seem to recall someone saying the later ones have delinked brake system, although I don't see any difference in the manuals, so the bleeding procedure may be different. The correct install manual for your conversion will tell you how to do it.... :xszpv::xszpv:

Goldrush,

My kit does have linked brakes. Front lever only operates the front brake calipers. The rear brake pedal operates both front and rear brakes.
I do have the standard shop service manual for the GL but was looking for specific instructions
for the Trike kit. Not sure how the sequence would be when you have 2 calipers in the rear that work off the brake pedal.

Go to the link DAWG provided and download the correct install manual for your kit. Go to the brake bleed instructions in that manual and have fun. I have found that mechanical bleeders do not work well but that may be the operator (not really). I have a good friend that has helped me bleed several systems the old fashion way. When we get done the brakes are solid as a rock! Sometimes old fashion is good.... :xszpv::xszpv:

Has anyone seen a residual pressure valve with thisconfiguration.
There are 2 brake fluid lines going into the residualpressure valve and then a left and right braided caliperlines going out of it to each of the rear brakes. Also there i a bleeder fitting at the far end of theresidual valve. I just don't know whenbleeding this system what sequence to follow when I have a bleeder (1) on eachrear caliper and then (1) in the residual valve. The Lehman docs do not show are mention the 2lines coming into the residual nor do they say anything about the bleeder onthe value in the bleeding process
My conversion is a 2012 GL1800 with a 2012 Lehman Monarch IISA build
Would appreciate any help that is offered
I have pictures but I can't figure out how to past them into this thread

So you have a 2012 GL1800 with a Monarch II Lehman Solid Axle Kit if I got this correct..... This is a link to the correct kit Installation Manual for your Kit:
http://www.lehmantrikes.com/assets/...le-installation-instructions-5073538cd4fb.pdf

I do not own a Lehman but once you download this manual go to Pages 14 for an overview and Pages 24 for the Brake Section / if this is your correct kit I suggest you Print this whole manual for future use... AND if you haven't done so already take your Goldwing to your closest Honda Dealer and have the latest Recall #23 Revised done which addresses the rear brakes on trike kits. They will change the SMC and the rear Master Cylinder and change the brake fluid to Honda Dot 4 to correct problems. Here is also a copy of the Recall Notice.... all this is No Charge from Honda. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM493774/RCRIT-15V700-8061.pdf They will Bleed your Rear Brakes..when they change parts and refill...

Just some FYI for ya... good Luck!!
