Best Place to Live?

I live in Louisiana great place to live great food low taxes. Good jobs. But the place I would like to live is Highlands, NC. It's a beautiful area to ride and live. They also have seasons. This week in Febuary I had to turn on the AC at the house because we were in the 80's.

No place but Texas. Live near Fort Worth and I am but a few hours from great riding areas (Texas Hill Country), almost year round riding weather (although I have never yet to ride in Texas heat since I just recently got my trike), a few casinos (have to cross into OK or LA), the Gulf (great seafood), some of the best museums in the country (all in FW), great food (not just BBQ), good fishing and hunting, no state income tax.

Come on down and stay a spell.

Zook some of the best year round weather is in the Ca. bay area lived there for several years and enjoyed it but get checkbook ready for a hit thou it's $$$$

We love Northeast Oklahoma, the taxes are reasonable, lots of good fishing lakes and we're a stones throw from the Ozarks in Mo and AR plus all of eastern OK is beautiful country. We also have 4 real seasons, it gets a bit cold for a couple months in winter, maybe one or two good snow storms, and pretty hot a couple months in summer, other than that it's great for bike riding.

We have wintered in the TEXAS RIO GRANDE VALLEY FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS---FINALLY BOUGHT A PLACE DOWN HERE-----CHEAP LIVING--FRIENDLY PEOPLE---YEAR ROUND TRIKE RIDING

I grew up in IL and am not a big fan of the cold. I can't stand the south, north east has way too much snow and Texas it's just too humid! North west..not enough sunny days and while snow is ok.. Rain get's me down!

With that said... I live In CA but would retire in either New Mexico or Arizona or just stay where I am.... Not really up to me any way.. I got a wife! :censored:

Live in Conn. This year was a ride all year. Never a water shortage, never a flood or wild fires, mud slides tornados, or earthquakes.. Temp never too hot to ride,.. Very expensive to live, but wages are high. I pull out of my drveway and I am on some of the best riding roads.

We just moved to Boise, ID from Bellingham, WA in an attempt to dry out. I have never seen prettier country than the PNW, but we got tired of dealing with the rain for 10 months out of the year. So far we love the Boise area but we have only been here 6 months. I am looking very forward to getting the trike done so we can explore the state.

There are literally hundreds of Northern trike folks spend the winter months in the Rio Grande Valley in southern Tx we came down 1st of Nov and are leaving in the morning for a three day trike rally in Kerrville Tx on our return trip to Michigan
