I Change mine once a year....On the anniversary of the day when i bought the trike...

And i keep extra batteries with the trike...

Change every April 1. No problems so far.

Take out the old going into winter storage put in the new one to get it out ,dont leave the battery in the fob over winter

On my birthday every year I change both fob batteries, I carry new spares in the trunk just in case
