battery removal

2014 GL1800 Roadsmith HTS,does anyone have a trick for removing the battery?The lip on the side of the fender prevents removal and makes it very difficult to get to the positive cable bolt.

I had to cut away just a bit of that lip, to make my battery removal easier ....

Just yesterday (9/4/23) I found that I had a broken wire on the pos side of the battery, so I had to remove the battery, yep I'm now glad that I had to cut away, just a small section of that lip..

you can't see the cut with the SIDE cover on, BUT it sure makes {installing/servicing} a battery easier for sure..........
