Battery Installation in a Roadsmith Trike

Anyone ever attempt to remove or install their battery in a Roadsmith Trike?.........:AGGHH:.......:gah: I left my ignition on and thought my battery was shot so I tempted removed it and OH MY, what a pain. Any suggestions?

You might just hook the Battery Maintainer on it , mine came back up.....

To late, I wedged the battery out, got it to full charge, and now trying to get it back in and having one hell-of-time
with the positive screw along with the charging unit pos. wire connected.

Fat fingers don't help either........:cxtv:

Then I'm dealing with those "inserts" in each terminal falling out.

I changed my battery three years ago but I don't remember having that much trouble getting it out. The new one was smaller, Shorai, so going back in was no problem.

Good luck.

A dab a Vasaline on those inserts/nuts.. Will keep them where they belong...ThumbUp

Battery instalation

I found the same problem, to cure mine......I moved it to the trunk. Got longer cables to go from the battery to the plus and neg. cables where the battery used to be. Problem solved, no problem hooking cables or battery change now. I don`t know about trunk space I have the HTS kit.

UPDATE........ Well after working to install the pos. terminal on my battery for aprox. 8 hours, I manage to connect
the bolt by pulling the battery half way out, stretching the pos. wiring harness a bit to complete.
What a pain.

Next time I need a new battery, I'll pay $1000 to have Honda service tech to do the installation.

On my 2003GW/Roadsmith I have to remove the seat to get the battery out. Not that big a problem unless you're on the road. :D

They are tight for sure but I never thought it was that hard.

Well.....that makes two of us.

I don't remember before it was triked that it was that hard.

Maybe the Roadsmith fender comes farther forward and the
battery is placed behind the fender giving me less room to get.
my hand in the to thread the positive post bolt.........

Do that disconnect the battery terminal's when they install trikes?

I think $999 is a rip off:wave4:
I'll do it for $500:clapping:
Of course at that low price, it'll have to be a fill in job to be done when I have time. I have to have it so it's here when I get a break to do it:AGGHH:

mgwtrike, if it is not a 911, if you can wait til I go to SD I will stop by and do it for half of what DD wants. :Coffee:

I did mine with the Lehman and I agree it is tight but do-able. Used a few Hail Mary's though, hard to stay bent over needed to finally get a stool.

MY gosh guys give the guy a break. He was just voicing his frustration with a job he had a tough time with. He originally thought he was doing something wrong and asked for advise. It appears he finally got the job done and was voicing the frustration. We all I'm sure have done jobs that after we said to ourselves next time I'm going to pay someone to do that.

I'm sure your reply's are in fun, but I don't think he is understanding that hence the comment "please explain"
