About how long should a new fully charged battery hold its charge before being put on a charger? Thanks for the input.

Their is no answer to that question the way it is ask, need more info.
If your saying the bike in not in use ? most people use a battery tender, not a charger.
If you ride your bike regularly, it should keep it's self charged, just like you auto.

Normal discharge of a battery is 1/2 a volt a month. With our bikes there is memory using battery ( clock, radio stations etc.) could increase discharge a little higher. After 2 months unattended it could not have the 11.3 volts it needs to start.

I have a fairly fresh battery installed. I have gone as long as 6 weeks without cranking it and still had enough juice to easily start it. That happened because I work out of state and forgot to put the Tender on it before I left. Usually, the Tender is on it if I'm not riding it for that long.

The answer is never put it on a charger:xzqxz:
Instead, plug in a battery maintainer, such as a Battery Tender, whenever you park it in the garage.
I have kept mine plugged in to a maintainer since buying the bike new in August of 06. Now I just want to see how long it will last:D
