Does anyone have any experience with the Bassani 4" slip on exhaust? It has been a while since I have seen or heard them. As I recall, they sounded just about right. Not too loud, with a deep tone. Also, I remember they were good performers.

Any additional information and experience is appreciated.

Sound is such a subjective thing to suggest. I agree that the Bassani's are quality pipes. The 4" in my opinion have a nice deep tone. But I also really liked the Rush Big Louie's 4 inch pipes I used on the Road Glide I had.

As far as performance. {Here we go} Any quality same size free flow slip on will perform almost exactly the same. The difference even with a great tune {Dyno} will be negligible to the point that other than the 1-2 HP range and same on the TQ numbers, you would never be able to feel that difference. If you where able to "seat of the pants" tune and feel that difference, dyno's would never be needed. Even on a full stage 1 with anybody's parts will perform for all intent and purpose, the same. But now we can wait for the many other opinions!! LOL Good luck. Go to a large ride and walk all the bikes and ask what they have. Never met a rider that didn't like talking about his or her set-up. Trust your ears, not anyone else.

Just my 2 cents - jc

JC thank you for the information. From my research, Fullsac is the direction I am headed. The hardest part of the equation is the slip on mufflers. I like to hear a good exhaust note, but don't want to be obnoxiously loud. I should say that my wife likes loud. Who would have ever thought that, especially with her being right on top of it. I guess I will get everything else done and wait until I can hear some different mufflers at the Maggie Valley Rally.
Thank you again for your thoughts.

AS long as I'm giving my opinions LOL: Just as a thought, Rush also makes head pipes that I've used more than once. A nice looking set up with a crossover {better than true duals}. The selling point for me is that they ceramic coat the pipes inside and out. There is a significant drop in heat coming off the pipes. Your wife might like loud, but nobody likes heat, including the driver. Again - Unless you are going with stage 2 or higher and having a purpose built custom header system, they will all do the same job, just not the cooler temps the Rush can achieve. Good luck...it's damn near my favorite part of owning bikes....making them my own!!

I am a Bassani exhaust fan. I love the sound of them and the performance it gives. If you want the performance with what they can offer a good head pipe is needed. You can't go wrong with fullsac either, great products. The cvo baffles that fulsac offers is another good choice if they will work with your mufflers.
The fulsac dx or sport headers are a good choice. jc1300 said it well, most slip on mufflers are close to being equal in the most part.
My wife is just like yours Recall, she likes loud, very loud I may add.
She wants me to add the V&H 2 into 2 big radius on the free, I'm not buying it. She has em on the wide glide, way too loud for me. They do sound great though.
Good luck with you venture.

I never said anything to her about the heat coming off the exhaust to see if she would notice it on her own. She did! She said it wasn't too bad until we are in traffic and stopping a lot. Of course, I have to say that when it gets below about 75 she is cold and ready to put on a jacket, just to give you an idea of how hot it has to be for her to say it is hot. They are a work in progress, when it comes to making them your own. Kind of like an addiction!

Thank you again for your thoughts and insight.

I always liked the sound of Bassani, there just aren't many Bassani systems in my area. My wife loves the scavenging sound when accelerating hard or down gearing. You would never guess it by her demeanor

I just want to do this once,so I want to get it right the first time.

Thank you for your thoughts and insight.

Wonder if our wives are related, the both seem to like the same thing with exhausts. Lol
I have a set of bassani b1 2 into 1 for a dyna. If the wearther gets bad long enough i may have to do some fabing to see if i can get em to work on the free.

Bassani carries a full line of baffles that are not that costly. Just got to figure out which one will work fir your mufflers. I called fulsac about their baffles. Since the freewheeler is so new they dont have a direct replacement at the present. I ordered the blank cvo baffles with 4 can fitments, dont know what to call them, uninstalled. This way it will be much easier to fit.
Should have them around this coming Monday. 2 inch seems to be the norm fir good performance.
I will do a thread when I fo it with photos in case others are interested.
Triglides can use them out of the box because their mufflers use the 2 wheel mufflers.

Sounds good. Bassani has a 4" DNT (Deep and Throaty) that sounds really good. I haven't been able to find any dyno data, but given it is a Bassani, they shoud good performers. Videos on YouTube sound good.

My header broke on my b1's after 2 years. Mostly my fault due to not checking them like I should.
I contacted them about a replacement header. Well they wanted photos of the broken header it was on my photobucket. They seen all my project bikes with Bassani exhaust. They sent a email and said they were replacing it under warranty. They had just done a update on the header for less scraping. They sent a new complete set, mufflers, mount and all. They were slow but their service is very hard to beat.
I always get better numbers with the Bassani exhaust from all the others I have tried. I have tried a lot thorough the years.
