Bagger Bar/Flash 2 Pass

Went to the garage yesterday and installed my Flash 2 Pass garage Door operner. I gotta say, I'm VERY disappointed in the range of the Flash to pass. Granted, my garage is a metal building, and the Flash 2 Pass instructions INSIDE to packaging mention possible problems if the reciever is surrounded by metal. I actually ended up suspending the receiver overhead below the opener in the center of the garage. I'm going to see if they have a receiver that does not have the opener button on it so I could mount it outside the garage.

Next I installed my new Bagger Bar......no too difficult, but I did have issues with the thickness of the shock pads. I easily got the bar mounted on saturday WITHOUT the shock pads, then the more it ate at me last night for not mounting them I went out today and redid the whole mount using the shock pads. If you haven't done this one yet, all the holes MUST be precisely drilled so as the bolts are not the least bit angled. Once I got it redone, I think I'm going to really like it. I got the black powder coated bar, if you get this one, be very careful of the powder coating, it's durable enough once mounted, be easily shows scuffs and tool marks.

I got the waterproof pouch for my GPS mounted, I also have the mounts for my mirrors on the Bagger Bar now, but I need to make a spacer for each mirror since these mounts are not as thick as the stock HD mounts.

Hey 41, are you running stock mirrors? Where did you get the mirror mounts for the bar? I am leaning very strongly toward getting the bar to mount my dual vision mirrors up higher. I like how the black looks too. Thanks

I am working on getting new mirror mounts made that will allow the stock mirrors to be moved up to bar without a spacer, in the mean while what I did was use a 5/16x24 nut then used the acorn nut that comes with your stock mirror. I am also working on a new mount for the garmin 450 and 550 I have the proto type mounted on my trike and will post pics later.

The extra nut is a good idea and would keep a clean look. Thanks for the info.

The Garmin I think it's a 650W that I have, I'm THINKING this setup will work okay for it. I've ordered another small version for my cell phone. the additional nut is exactly what I did. Works great. Very nice product. I'm going to like it.

Hey Bobs!.. I have the split vision mirrors like you do. I couldnt see directly behind me so I installed the mirror extensions that HD makes. Now they work perfect and I can see everything behind with no prob. $$$$29.95!!! Of course!!! For 2 little 1.25 inch pieces of threaded metal!!! It never ends!!! Ha Ha!!

The extensions were a must for me too. I really think the bagger bar would put the mirrors up and in my normal line of sight. Nor more looking down and trying to refocus. Darn bi-focals are killing me. :(

Yeah,, I see what you mean..That Bagger Bar would prob make it better for you. I wear bi-focal contacts. Work well for me.
