AARP continues to bombard me with literature pushing their preferred automobile provider, The Hartford.

Just curious - any of you out there have insurance with The Hartford through AARP - if so, have you been satisfied with their service and price?

Pros and cons welcome...thanks!

I had them years ago. Their prices were a little lower. But I liked using the net to change things when I bought something different. At the time you had to call them. Plus when AARP went Anti second amendment I dropped them both... I'm never going back

If I stopped doing business with every company that I didn't agree with politically I'd probably spend less money. Besides, how would I know? And why would I really care? This is America. We don't all have to agree with each other on everything.

The benefit of the AARP Program is the Lifetime Renewability. Even if you have traffic convictions or accidents, they should offer you a renewal. Granted the premium will change if incidents occur, at least there is an offer.

Finding the right Insurance Company comes down mainly to the benefits you desire:

1. 5-Year New Car Replacement (No Depreciation)

2. Loan Payoff or GAP Included

3. Diminishing Deductibles

4. Accident Forgiveness / Minor Violation Forgiveness

5. High Liability or Medical Payment Coverage

I wrote my coverage with Travelers, when my wife bought a new Jeep Wranger. Where most carriers, if at all, only provide a year of replacement coverage--Travelers includes 5 years. If this vehicle is destroyed it an accident, it will be replaced with a brand new, current year model.

We are licensed in (18) states including Texas--would love to send you options:

Thank you all for your replies.

I too am an NRA member and don’t appreciate AARP’s stance against the 2nd Amendment.

However,,, they do offer some interesting information re medical updates and disability options. I am a very healthy person and not in need of that but I like to keep on top of it....something to file away in my memory data banks...
