Do we dream also of Barn Find 57 Karmann Ghia Convertible with original engine , or early Barn door buses with unmolested interrior or 51 Split window type 1 with 25 hp motor that is better than 10 point restoration , or a tricked out squareback with lotsa horsepower ? ( Or do most VW Trike guys not own Or desire something like a Very original unmolested 66 VW 1300 beetle ...

I have only met a couple vw trike guys in person.

They were vw guys to start with pre-trike.

Myself also.

A lot of the guys I have met on forums and such are not vw guys. But are fans of the vw trike and the styling of a vw trike. Many dream of an old Roth style vw trike and the absolute coolness that goes with it but have no desire for an old vw car at all. Some have fond memories of zipping around the college campus and kissing the girls in a beetle back in the day. Would like to re-live the youth but not necessarily the vw.

Myself....I do not desire a resto. If there was one at the car show I would definitely give it a good look over. But I am more of a modified guy. Actually I have a 61 Karmen sedan convertible that I plan on cutting up to make a volks rod out of. That in itself put me near the top of sacrilege to the classic crowd.

I would love a 67 Dual Cab transporter or a very original early Notchback , and here in Redding Ca. There is a very authentic replica of the early Herbie driving around town ...
