Wondering what this would look like if the white was painted the Harley Racing orange and the unpainted areas painted black. I've attempted several times to edit the colors but just can't get the lines straight. :(

Sorry, I'm no help on the photoshop stuff. I do like the idea of the HD Orange color, but I think if you paint the other parts all you will have is a lot of rock chips and bug strikes showing. I guess you could paint the parts exposed in the front with a bedliner product. Just My 2 cents.

Speaking of bedliner coating, has anyone ever used it on the inside of one of those trailers? Not meaning to hijack the thread but I'm still thinking about these trailers.

There is now a clear plastic that can be applied via a rattle can. Will be trying that on this trailer.

I'm thinking I may have a carpet kit made for the inside. I know there are bed liner type of products out there for aluminum but not sure how well they would work inside of a trailer.

Personally I wouldn't paint the diamond plate unless you just wanted to clear coat it and even then I would be concerned about adhesion and the clear coat peeling which could turn into a PITA.

I had a white MCT that I applied yellow vinyl to the sides to match a yellow GL1800. You could do the same with black or orange,,,go to a sign shop and check the vinyl colors. They can cut you a piece for not much money. I think it looks good as is actually...white goes with anything.

Self etching primer is a must on the diamond plate. Look at the builds done on www.tinboats.net . Folks on there get more use in a year on their boats then I will on this trailer in 5 years.

OK, well that does look great. I like the black. What kind of paint did you use?

Just a universal gloss black auto paint in a rattle can that I bought at Mills Fleet farm. Same stuff I used on my fairing lowers on my FLRT. What you see is 4 coats. I used the self etching primer also. Will do the rear like this later on. The three sides that are white is what I am looking at doing in the racing orange.

I like it...the self etching primer is the key.

Epoxy Paint in cans works well too.....we painted a lot of "spot areas" on aluminum on Race Cars with it.....pretty tough and durable.....ThumbUp
