Any ideas's to stay cool while riding in the Florida Summer?

Re: Any ideas's to stay cool while riding in the Florida Summer?

I am going to give those evaporative cooling "towels" a try. Let me know if you have had any experience with them. Thx!!

No experience but doubt how effective they would be in this high humidity. It takes low humidity for evaporation to work and make cool and that we're missing here in Florida. The best thing is to ride early mornings and get home by noon before the heat and thunderstorms.

Oh yes, anyone has good suggestions, I'm listening. Using LDComforts, but there is no magic. There is Veskimo, uses ice, water and a pump, check it out on veskimo.com, but be prepared for sticker shock, and needs room on the passenger seat to operate.

www.coolvest.com

I use a Coolvest while I am in Florida. It works great; I carry extra cooling packs in a cooler, I get about 4 hours per set.

I use a Camel back they are a bladder inside a backpack I fill it with ice and it will stay cool a long time that way you can get a drink any time you need keeps your back cool also look for a pump mister you can buy them at most sporting goods and some chain stores.

I bought one of those X-creen wind deflector to help with the wind and rain (which it does pretty good). Coming back from this year Eureka Springs this year, I found that I could adjust it to flip over the windshield and actually blow air in on the driver. Could be adjusted to blow anywhere from the head to the belly !! Sure helps out on real hot days on the highway. In town I just turn on the A/C which is a nice part of having a Stallion !!

I agree with rmrc51. as when it is in the 90's my ride is sitting in the garage. when we do want to ride we go out in the early AM and ride until around 11:AM and we very rarely ride in the afternoons. this is during the summer only months but from October until June the weather is perfect for riding anytime of the day and we take advantage of it. you can ride during the hot, hot days and you are OK until you run into traffic and have to slow down, or worse have to stop and then it sucks. i don't think that towel will help you very much while riding as the humidity is just horrible. the other thing you really have to worry about is the sun beating down on you and possibly giving you skin cancer, not worth it. keep cool and ride your truck or auto and turn the air on high, a better choice.
