Heads up to any DISH customers out there....had a call today from guy claiming to be from Dish and they NEEDED to do an update to our tv service. First clue it was a scam....they called my phone and my wife's phone number is on our account. I came in the house and gave the phone to her and when she started questioning the guy....who definitely was not from this country...

he wanted us to turn off our tv etc and then he would give me more instructions on what I needed to do or I was going to lose my tv service..(am sure the next step would have been to ask for credit card info)...when we told him "we will take my chances on that..thank you"...he informed us he was going to charge us $300 to turn my service back on. When she still refused he got very upset with and actually hung up on her. We contacted DISH and it was all a scam.....so beware!!

If don't recognize a call number i don't pickup the phone.....Even if the number is close....If its important they will leave a message...Thats what Answering machine's are for...

I usually don't answer, but the caller ID showed "Whataburger". I have a tax client that I was expecting to call. She works at Whataburger so I did. The next day "In and Out Burger" called, it went to voice mail. No message was left, so I don't think I won a burger.

I keep getting a Pakistani prick calling me saying my social security number is suspended and for a small fee he can help me. I just laugh and start pushing buttons on the phone:p

1] will you please stop pushing buttons while someone is trying to help you...

2] Im not Pakistani........

Since my mother passed I don't answer the phone unless it's a name I recognize. When she was here I had to answer all the calls. Because the doctors hide their number so you can't call them back. At that time I won several free cruises, contacted by the irs because they were gonna seize my money. My grandson was in jail and needed bail money. My bank account was compromised and they needed my ssn and mother's maiden name to verify my account. I'm sure there there we others, like car warranty was about to run out, but yeah phones have become useless.

Theres an old saying that go's ''Curiosity kills the cat''...

Some people get curious pick up the phone and thats how some get taken...

Even if you just pick up the phone and then just hang up...You are registered as a live one and you will get on their call back list..
