Hello all,
Another new guy here. I see a lot of the new guys posts are from three or four years ago so I guess they are all knowledgeable old guys now right? I bought my trike about three weeks ago, it has a Possum Pride body and frame. I believe the motor was manufactured between 8/72 and 10/72, it’s a 1600 dual port and I believe duel relief, but I’m not sure what that is.

My understanding is the trike project was started over 15 years ago and recently finished. I have receipts for a lot of the parts I see but the receipts are from 2015 and 2016, I have a receipt for a “engine kit, 1700cc bolt in for $679.95 from Topline Parts in Anaheim. The motor seems fresh, in fact, weird for me but everything seems in better shape than I thought when I bought and best of all, no rust! It has dual carbs but surprisingly they are Webers, looks like 34 CI on the side. I believe at least two different parties have owned and worked on the trike. These first pictures are how I bought it.

And new flood lights. I have some early van tail lights I am planning on using, as well as one van backup light but the van taillights on have a red and a black wire, haven’t looked at the bulb but am guessing I will only be able to use the as brake/taillight and not a turn signal.
I also have a set of early beetle taillights I could use with it but that would be a bunch of lights on the back, probably too many.

I didn’t like most of the wiring so I took it all out and started over, probably 50/50 chance I will figure that out. Now, what I want to use this trike for is to pull a small 4’x8’ trailer with my Indian Scout Bobber and some boxes of camping gear. Besides getting it rewired what else should I look at to make it as dependable as possible for traveling?
