Just joined this forum. I've been riding motorcycles for over 45 years. Just bought a Voyager Kit, does this make something less than a triker in the eyes of the folks on this website?

Not a chance!!!! We have several great members also on Voyager kits. So consider this a big ol' TrikeTalk welcome to the family :D! Glad to have you with us.

If you are new to the Voyager kit, you will find it takes careful adjustments mechanically to perform at optimum level. It also requires some personal adjustments as you get used to riding it. But take the time for both of those, and you will likely enjoy it thoroughly!

That said, don't assume that it feels and handles just the same as a traditional trike.... it does not! But it is a wonderful option that will keep you riding, and many are happy to stay on the Voyager indefinitely.

Here are links to just a couple of our active threads discussing these trikes. Hope you find the information here helpful! And ask any questions you want....someone will know where to get the answers for you!

Well you got 4 wheel i guess you don't need a helmet then. Oh wait Nevada law says only if you have 2 rear driven wheels. So keep wearing your helmet. Besides your kit is not a permanent install.

Welcome. After you get your kit, you will get lots of comments good and bad. All that matters is that you like it. The one I hear the most is the training wheels comment, and its usually just in fun. Just about one year ago I was learning to walk again after a small stroke. I'm almost back to normal and still riding. That is the important part, still riding and enjoying. The Voyager kit gives me a secure feeling, especially when the wife is aboard. Just like the trikes it is bigger and makes you easier to see out there, another plus. Takes some practice to get used to, and you will likely change the preload setting and shock and tire pressures from the factory recommended settings to feel more comfortable. It will not ride as well as a trike with independent suspension, although it does ride very well. You will get lots of nice comments too, especially when you clean/detail your bike and take it out, more shine! I will likely get a nice trike in the future, after my son is out of college. (Wife wants her own!)
Share your settings with the gang in the Voyager section when you are set up and good luck.

Nope - this group accepts just about anyone, that's why it's such an awesome place to hang out!! Heck, I went to the rally in my Toyota, and I wasn't treated any differently than anyone else! :D

What matters is that you found a way to keep riding, and you found Trike Talk!! WELCOME, TRIKER!!!

John,

Go to an observed trial some time. Not a trike in the bunch, but a whole lot of stopping with both feet on the pegs.:rolleyes:

I have a Danson kit installed on my Honda Silverwing Scooter. I consider myself a Triker. I feel that if you have to DRIVE it not RIDE it, it is a Trike.

HEY if they want to jump in and talk they can too. Never know we may convince them to buy one. We also have dreamers that have never ridden a Bike, trike or scooter and that is ok too. as long as we all share the common interest.
