Air Wing Fender Rails?

I can't imagine the install would void the warranty as they are an HD part. Long as the wiring was done right and especially if the dealer did the install. I had trouble with an HD chrome tail light & it was covered.

I was going to put those on mine but was talked out of it by my fashion consultant (wife). She said they serve no purpose and I was teetering on the edge of the "overdone it" cliff...

I still think they look good....

It was a joke.......:Joker3:

Dealer install

Had the dealer install Air Wing Fender Rails at time of purchase of 18' Tri Glide. According to the parts catalog, the light assembly is not available for the 17'/18' Glides.

I am having plates made to attach to the rails to keep soft bags from riding on the fenders when tied to the rails. Will post pics when I get them installed.

Thanks for the response. Looking forward to the pics.

I agree with your wife. I never understood the reason for them unless it was to tie some small article to the fender. But if you need to do that, YOU'RE CARRRING WAY TOO MUCH $HIT. :) :)

I put them in the same category as the tour pac luggage rack = makes it harder to clean and wax, but at least the tour pac rack is useful.

It is, I use it to lay my jacket on it and i can hold on to it while closing the lid so it doesn't slam shut...Also it looks Purdy... :D

Usefull

The Air Wing Fender Rail plates are finally installed. They are made from 18ga sheet metal, cut to fit inside, and powder coated. I used greased leather to strap them down. I have used them to carry our HD folding chairs on picnic runs and will use them to carry dry bags on vacation runs. The dealer says I could carry 10-15 lbs on each side, that's 30 lbs I don't have to find room for in the trunk.

Just by asking a dealer if something will void the warranty 'Will void the warranty

Sadly, there are dealers who will tell you that something isn't covered then collect from both you and H-D. If a claim is denied I would contact H-D directly to see why.
