I put one on my 2017 TriGlide and am very impressed with the results. The pull is reduced by about 50% and the engagement much closer to the bar. It is an easy swap. I only had to loosen my heat shields and pipes. Bleeding took a couple of tries to purge all of the air.
I like what it's supposed to do, since my 2018 is on recall may have to talked the dealer about this. Read on the hd forums that some harley dealers are carrying this in stock, not sure about mine. I have carpal tunnel in both hands and I only have around 20 miles on my 2018 before putting it away for winter, I did notice the clutch pull seemed harder than my 2016, could be just me and only 20 miles so hard to tell. When spring hits will have to take it in for the recall, I viewed the John Maxwell video about this, looks to me like just replacing the rubber gasket and a new spring attached to it, not doing the whole unit per se.
The newer ones are like the 17 & 18 after the recall. The recall improved my 2017 Freewheeler enough to make me happy. Slightly less pull pressure to actuate & it starts to engaged closer to the bar.
The AIM cylinder will decrease it 50%
If you have problems, you can get the AIM or the reduced pull levers.
I will say, I have not seen 1 review on the AIM were the owner was not very happy.
Had my dealer install the AIM slave cylinder about 10 days ago. They did it along with the recall so it only cost the price of the cylinder and half an hour labor.
In spite of the crappy weather, I have a little over 100 miles on it and absolutely love it!
Much easier to pull, but that's not the reason I got it. The clutch now has an actual friction zone. Starts to come in about an inch or so from the bar and really feels like a properly adjusted cable clutch. Really nice on hard right turns from a stop when your arm is stretched way out.
