64 been on 3 for 2 years now, cannot hold 2 up any more
18 months til I hit 70. Still going strong, just slower!
I'm 48 had total knee replacement at VA hospital and lost range of motion. So trike I can ride without worrying about knee problem. *

Me To, I was the same age when I started riding a trike because of a knee issues. Not quite as bad as yours no loss of range of motion. Anyway I am 52 now will be 53 soon and was the best thing I ever did. If I had known how much fun a trike was I would have gotten a trike sooner knee issue or not.

Also be a war baby, born in '44, so be 72. Been riding on 2 since I was 7 and have put the ole kick stand down in all 48, Canada, Mexico and NewFoundland, 31 RIDES to Sturgis. 3 years ago diagnosed with Parkinson's so switched over to 3. 'Free on Three'......
With the addition of Colorado oil in my diet, feel good and might try to see all 48 again but on 3.

Age.
Age is just a number and I'm number 75. Keep very active all the time and it definitely helps prolong the aches and pains that we will most likely all get some day.
I believe that with an aging riding population on all models of bikes and in most clubs is the reason we are seeing more and more trikes on the road.
I'm on my first trike and only wish I had known years ago how much fun they are.

Love your perspective and totally agree. I am 59, no health issues, and I too, wish I would have discovered trike riding years ago. May have traded in the 2 wheeler sooner.
Age of "Trikers"
Does just entering the 70's count? Had to go to a trike after 6-weeks of radiation for right facial cancer tweeked my balance. Wife didn't like getting dumped twice from our Ultra Classic in one day from leaning too far to right at a stop. Tri Glide is a different ride to be sure!

going on 62 now. went to three wheels after hitting a deer and then a sign post that removed my left leg above the knee. had a hip replacement two years before the accident, so i was headed that way anyway. been riding for 48 years and just glad to continue riding .
Just turned 70 and finished a 2300 mile adventure. I feel just like I have always felt. Just lucky I guess.

Been riding sense my early teens. Bought the Gzr-glide in July 2009, had lower back problems. Still riding her, and have found new homes for the other bikes. I turned 70 in November.
75 and went to a Trike last November, after 65 years of two wheelers.

Almost there, I will be 69 in May. Moved to the 2016 Tri Glide last March 2016. I am 5 ft 8-9 depending upon how hard I stretch. I have a stocky build but my legs are short. I have to wear 28 to 29 inch pants (length HA HA) and they are not easy to find. My health is still good and other than kidney stones years ago, my only problem is a compressed disc in lower back. This occurred about 30 years ago but has never got bad enough for surgery. However, when it does go out every now and then it will take me to the ground and really hurts. Like the old saying..."once back trouble, always back trouble". I was riding a 07 Road Glide and got tired of worrying about loose gravel, wet or oily spots etc. when I stopped on the RG. Dropped it twice at stop signs or red lights and decided to go the the trike! I do miss the leaning in the "twisties" but I love the trike.orag:

Just turned 70 last November. Rode a 2003 Road King before I traded for a Trike. Got a 2015 and love it. The ride is a little different, but the kick back and relax is wonderful. Old ain't bad if the ride is good
This thread is very encouraging to me. I will turn 60 this summer. I bought my TG this past Oct. and anticipate riding it for many more years. Thanks for sharing,everyone!

Turning 73 next month. Been riding for 58 years. The last 4 on a TG. No old age problems - healthy as an ox - go to gym every other day. Wish I could afford 2 wheeler also (still like to lean). Don't need a trike yet but may not have a job (money) in a few years when I "will" need one. I have the money now so I bought a TG (2nd one).
I do 3 or 4 3000 mile trips each year. Last year did a complete Route 66 trip (7 days and still didn't see everything) did a SS1000 on the way back. This year going to Ottawa for Canadian National HOG rally. Each year I go to Rolling Thunder in DC and take the Skyline Drive/BRP/Cherohala Skyway or the Dragon back home. Also do Sturgis once in a while. May try a Bun Burner 1500 this year also.

Making the big decision
I turn 73 this April and have been wanting a Tri Glide since I sold my Road Glide last year. I found I was riding it less and not really feeling as comfortable as I used to feel on two wheels. Been riding since 1968, both Harleys and BMW's, and miss it. Now where can I find $35k that won't be missed!

On the 35k.. Take out a 30 year loan with a ballon payment due on the 29th year ...
64 now and have my tri glide 1 year. However, I've owned two servicars, the first about 50 years ago.
Ended up with Leukemia last January and after 99 days in the hospital and 66 days in a hospital apartment I got down to 139 pounds at 6 feet tall. Could not see handling a 2009 CVO Ultra so I went to a 2016 Tri-Glide. I got 1,500 miles on last fall and felt confident and in control of the Trike.
Looking forward to lot more riding this year.

I've been riding since 1960 and got my first trike in 2011... I will be 82 in a week but I feel and act as if I am still in my 60's... For what it's worth, the only difference I find between the trike and my previous Ultra Classics is that the trike is wider (54"), my upper body and arms are now a lot stronger, and that I don't put my feet down when I stop...
A month after I bought my first trike (2012 Trike), my wife and I went to a Trike Rally in Maggie Valley, NC and among other things rode The Dragon, which I had never done on an Ultra... It was an amazing experience...
By the way, I mean it when I say don't put your feet down when you stop, my buddy put his left foot down, ran into it with the rear wheel and broke his ankle... Not good...
So, in short, I am 82 years old and am enjoying the Trike immensely...

Well may God Bless u guys. Seventy five this year and ride when I can.
Hate the hot weather but thats what I get for living in Las Vegas Nv. I
would ride more but for some reason I get light headed and feel dizzy
after I been out in the heat. Drink as much water as I can but it don't
help. VA can't help, don't know why I feel that way.

Certain medications if you get too much Sun will do that to you....

Well count me in, I'm 72 and started riding in 1970.
Currently ride my 2010 trike but have my "1988 2wheeler"
parked in the garage ready to roll at any time - bought her
new in '87 currently has 270 thou. + miles.
Best of luck to ALL YOU fellow riders and hope you ALL have
many more happy/safe miles!
