I am in the process of having to change my transmission in my trike. I had a dealership install my Champion reverse gear for me in 2008. Well I found out that the mechanic who installed it kept the special socket and carbide drill bit needed to swap the reverse gear to my new transmission.

The special socket and carbide bit cost $150 plus shipping to replace. So anyone that has a reverse gear system installed such as mine, make sure you get the tools from the mechanic

The mechanic who installed mine now lives somewhere in Colorado

Thanks, but its mute point now. Guess I should have read all my paperwork back 08 when I had it done to know I had a special socket and drill bit that came with my reverse

Hi there. I saw this attached to another topic. I can't find earlier references to your problem. Did you have a topic of your own? I'd like to try helping but I need more information and maybe some pics of the gear in question. There's a way to get it apart. With a little more info - best to start a topic of your own - the good folks here will help you through it.
