Add Michael (MDO) to our prayers

The procedure is called TAVR, which stands for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement. This procedure is much less invasive than open heart surgery.:)

Hopefully, I will get the plan today.

I had the same procedure done 4 weeks ago. took about 4hrs with just one night stay over. My valve was made from a Cow. It's the latest. All done with a Catheter in the groin area. No after affects at all. All new technology.

Best of luck with yours.

I saw 2 heart doctors today & we scheduled the next step. I have to go back in a couple weeks for a procedure called a cardiac catheterization, then if that goes well, we will discuss the valve replacement.:)

Well., I'm headed back to the VA Hospital for my procedure tomorrow. I should know more after that.

Thanks to all for the well wishes & I have an update.

My artery was over 90% blocked, so a team of cardiac surgeons looked at my case & decided my recent problems may be from the blocked artery and will fix it 1st, then reevaluate me after that.

The surgeons are from BJC Healthcare and the VA is sending me to them for the procedure.

The other news is that the VA is going to fix my dental problems as dental infections can lead to heart problems. This is about $6,000 of good news. Merry Xmas to me & hopefully by spring I'll be ready to go.

Well, thinks dont always work out like you plan. I was rushed back to the VA Hospital this morning & they are planing heart procedures for tomorrow & possibility Wednesday.

I told the kids to save me some turkey.:)

Michael... prayers sent for you.

We’ll be here when you get back to the forum and, as is your talent, we’ll expect a FULL REPORT young man!....pics not necessary... :)

Thanks all! I got out of the VA hospital yesterday & am home resting. Heart problems feel much better, but I'm having some problems/side effects with the new medications they started me on. I go back Monday morning.

Excellent news Michael, having gone through the same procedure, it takes some time for your body to adjust.
