About to install Mighty Mites

I have heard the stories about installing love jugs and the (cursed isolator) anyone have advice to possibly make it go without undue stress? I'm sure I can handle it just if there is a better way of doing it please feel free to share! :Shrug: ride safely I'm wrenching tomorrow.:Coffee: Fred

Fred, use a heat gun on the stock isolator rather than a hair dryer to get the red locktite to release. Most who are having problems are using a hair dryer and its just not hot enough.

Just installed a set of Mighty Mites on my Freewheeler this morning. Heat Gun works great. Heated the back of the isolator on low heat setting for about 2 minutes and was able to unscrew it with a pair of channellocks with no problems. All wired up and ready to go but have work going on at my house today so won't get to try them out until tomorrow. Good luck.

Installed all went well...

I must have become impatient with OEM Isolator, I ripped it up. I ended up removing horn mount from heads much easier for me to finish removing isolator rear portion.

Quality material and workmanship in my opinion. Plug and play as in the directions all went well. Cold and rain today in Pennsylvania no riding yet soon I pray. As promised before and after pictures included. :good: Ride safely Fred

When Installing Mighty Mites on a 2014 Trike, where can I get power from, I'm almost sure I purchased

8 Pin Adaptor (Harley-Davidson®) and used it for my air adjustable seat. ​

On my 16 there was an empty plug behind left side panel. I think some others had it on the right side.

Today was our first ride of the year, the Mighty Mite's seem to be a great addition to Old Shiney. Going through the small town of Clarion the temps would climb quickly above 250 now stayed below 235. If those reductions stay the same in warmer weather those little fans are an expense well invested in our ride.:good: ride safely Fred

I installed mighty mites on my 14 Tri Glide yesterday. I got power under the left side cover. I used the Harley adapter plug, it plugged in to the mighty mite plug. There is extra wires on the HD plug you can use to run another accessory. (Mighty Mite)

I installed a HD bolt on 110 kit over the winter. I believe the fans will help with the added heat of the 110. They look good and seem to move a good amount of air. I haven't had a chance to ride with them on the trike yet. Weather not that great here in Michigan yet.

I tried to attach pictures but they seem to big. I don't know how to make them smaller. I am not that great with computers. (Is it because I use a I-pad ?)

I have a couple questions: 1) I have installs an air horn that mounts where the old horn was that I'd rather not have to give up. Can both be mounted in the same location?

2)Can I play Devils Advocate for a moment? The Love Jugs look like they'll do a fine job of cooling the spark plugs but how much effect will they have on the other three sides of the heads?

1. Included there is a reinforced stronger Stainless steel mount horn and love jugs go on same mount. I believe actually stronger than OEM. the directions are excellent simple install.

2. I have my Power vision reading motor Temps as I have said I have already seen significant heat reduction. I have a laser thermo Gun as time goes on I will be checking but do not have time at the moment. (Love Jugs are not new on the market this Mighty Mite is a new model) time will tell, riding through town yesterday was very encouraging to me. good questions thank you anything I can do to reduce heat I will. As previously stated in Post #5 on this thread I installed a set of Mighty Mites a few days ago but didn't get to ride until the last couple of days due to some work going on at the house. After riding a few miles with them on I must say WOW, THESE THINGS ARE FANTASTIC! My mpg went up to 62.3 riding 2 up at 80 MPH pulling a trailer, the exhaust sounds much deeper, the transmission shifts so much smoother and all of the wind buffeting is totally gone!

OK, OK. I missed April Fools by a few days but I just couldn't help it. :laugh:

Actually I have ridden a few miles with them installed and I have to say the heat coming off the engine is reduced. I don't have a thermal heat sensing gun but there for sure is less heat build-up. I am impressed with the quality of the unit. They are loud but once the engine is running I can't hear them. I think they are going to be a good investment.

Up date on Love Jugs

Temperatures are raising in Pa today lower seventies Old Shiney ET never went over 235 and that is with two trips about two miles stop and go traffic. Before Mighty mites we installed we would have seen 270 to 280 in a heart beat. I just may keep them next trip I will take the laser gun with me to check other side just because. Out on highway Shiney runs 205 to 210 sure seems to run better doesn't get doggin when it got hot. just sayin :Shrug: ride safely Fred
